Overview
Both plans cover hospital coinsurance, skilled nursing coinsurance, the Part A deductible, hospice coinsurance, blood, and foreign travel emergency care.
How it works
Plan G then pays your Part B coinsurance in full after the annual deductible. Plan N pays Part B coinsurance but may leave a small copay on certain visits and does not cover excess charges.
What to watch for
The honest comparison is arithmetic: take the annual premium difference and weigh it against how many office and emergency visits you realistically expect.
What to do next
Frequent specialist users often prefer Plan G. Infrequent users in states that bar excess charges often prefer Plan N.
