The standard Part B premium and the Part B deductible are published by the federal government for each calendar year. Higher-income beneficiaries pay an income-related monthly adjustment amount (IRMAA) on top of the standard premium.

Part A deductible and coinsurance reset each benefit period

The Part A deductible applies per benefit period rather than per calendar year, and daily coinsurance amounts apply to longer hospital and skilled nursing stays. The dollar amounts are updated annually.

Part D includes an annual out-of-pocket cap

Medicare prescription drug coverage includes a yearly cap on what you pay out of pocket for covered drugs, and a payment plan option that spreads costs across the year. The cap amount is updated annually.

2027 Medicare figures publish in the fall

Premiums, deductibles and coinsurance amounts for the next calendar year are normally announced in the autumn. Until then, treat any 2027 number you see quoted anywhere as an estimate.
