Medigap Plan F
A legacy plan for those eligible for Medicare before 2020
Plan F historically covered the Part B deductible in addition to the benefits found in Plan G. Federal law closed Plan F to people who became newly eligible for Medicare on or after January 1, 2020.
Eligibility: Generally available only to people who were eligible for Medicare before January 1, 2020.
What Plan F helps cover
- Part A coinsurance and hospital costs up to an additional 365 days
- Part A deductible
- Part A hospice care coinsurance or copayment
- Part B deductible
- Part B coinsurance or copayment
- Part B excess charges
- First three pints of blood
- Skilled nursing facility care coinsurance
- Foreign travel emergency care (up to plan limits)
What you still pay
- Your monthly premium
- Items Medicare does not cover at all
